The second of two Guests of Winifred Holtby (herself on Table A) are listed to join her mother, Alice Holtby, and Edith de Coundouroff, widow of Alice’s so-called adopted son-in-law. It’s possible that given it is such a short time after the funeral of Alice’s husband, David Holtby, (and Winifred’s father of course), a quiet dinner with Edith was in order. But perhaps Winifred came up with one or two others to keep them company or had just booked two seats for Alice to bring close friends. I wonder. Any ideas?
